Travel between Cagayan de Oro City and Malaybalay City is set to become faster and more convenient with the upcoming Central Mindanao High Standard Highway (CM HSH), a major infrastructure project supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Philippine government.
Currently, the 91-minute drive between the two cities is expected to be reduced to just 51 minutes once the new four-lane, 65.7-kilometer highway is completed. Designed as a High Standard Highway Class 1, the project will feature modern engineering specifications including a design speed of 80 km/h or more, a maximum vertical gradient of 5%, and curves with radii of at least 252 meters, ensuring a smoother and safer travel experience.
