More than 500 quarrying operations have been approved across Northern Mindanao as of 2023, this is according to the data released by Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Region X.
Of the total, around 400 permits were issued for sand and gravel extraction, reflecting the continued demand for construction materials driven by public and private infrastructure projects across the region.
